The 22-storied Radisson Blu
Chittagong Bay View hotel,which
was constructed on an area of
around 4.18 acres of land,is the second Radisson hotel. At the entrance
there was a fountain and further
inside was a relaxation area with a sampan where hotel guests as
well as walk-in guests could relax
to the sound of falling water.

The hotel's 241 guest rooms,
include 222 superior Rooms, 13
junior suites and four Executive
Suites, are equipped with state of
the art technology and furnished
in contemporary style. From
Superior rooms to executive
suites, all the rooms have
comfortable memory foam beds
and plush down bedding.
Other deluxe amenities include a
40-inch LCD television with cable
channels, an iPod docking
entertainment system, free high-
speed, wireless Internet and
premium bathroom amenities.
Two handicap-accessible
Superior Rooms are available on
request.
The hotel has 66 Business Class
rooms located on levels 16
through 19 for all corporate
travellers. The rooms come with
free access to the Business
Class lounge, including all-day
refreshments, two-hour
complimentary evening reception
with premium pours and canapés
and complimentary breakfast in
the business class lounge or at
the Xchange.
Business Class guests can also get laundry services for four
pieces of clothing with dry
cleaning facilities per room/night along with availability of local and
English newspapers in thelounge.
For the VVIPs, there is the 284-
sq-m Royal Suite and a 304-sq-m
Presidential Suite. The latter has meeting room for eight
delegates, spacious dressing
room, Jacuzzi, steam shower,
private pool, private dining room for five persons and kitchen.
With 2,100sqm of ballroom and
meeting space, at the pillar-less,multifunctional Mezban and
Mohona on the first and fourth
floors along with mood lighting
and break out rooms, the hotel is the perfect venue for business
meetings, social events,
weddings, conventions, seminars
and MICE.
Exclusive corporate meetings
can be held at the eleven board
rooms of various sizes and
bearing beautiful names, all
selected from Chittagong area
like Meghna, Patenga, Naf,
Sangu, Sonadia, Sandwip,
Patenga, St Martin, Karnaphuli,
Kaptai and Halda.
Serving everything from modern
Mediterranean cuisine,
contemporary Asian dishes and
traditional Bangladeshi
specialties to delectable desserts and refreshing cocktails, the
restaurants of the hotel provide a variety of options.
Mezetto at Level 20 is the fine
dining restaurant, most exclusive and expensive dining place in the
hotel. The mostly Italian and Mediterranean menu here is changed every
three months.
Thirty-eight persons can be
accommodated in the restaurant
while 28 in the open terrace.
Diners can dine overseeing the
skyline of the city. There is also wine bar and cigar bar nearby.
The terrace is also designed for
arranging barbecue.
A new eatery, Bornil, has been
inaugurated in Radisson Blu
Chittagong Bay View on August
20. Bornil, which translates to
'colourful', offers the diverse
colours of Bangladeshi cuisine.
Bangladeshi food, with its long
culinary tradition has tantalising
treats such as bhortas, curries,
fish and rice, etc.
The Bangladeshi A-la-Carte
restaurant Bornil on Level-5 is
open for dinner, while Holy Basil on the same floor serves
Japanese Chinese and Thai.
Bornil can accommodate 56
persons in the restaurant and 12
in the terrace.
Level-3 Xchange is the dinner
and breakfast restaurant. If the
Xchange has more guests, than
that can be accommodated, there
is a space nearby, where they
can dine comfortably.
For guests on the go with no time for a sit-down breakfast, the hotel
offers the Grab and Run takeaway breakfast. Tea and
coffee in disposable cups along
with fresh fruits and energy bars are available on a special table in
the lobby.
The Radisson Blu Super
Breakfast is an extensive buffet
featuring a range of food items
selected from the best of
Continental, North European, and
American cuisine.
The hotel also offers 24-hour
room service for guests'
convenience.
Though every restaurant has an
attached bar, guests can choose
from an extensive beverage list
at Baikal Bar_ evening cocktail
bar_ on Level-5 of the Annex
building, which also features live music and stunning views of the
sunset. The bar can seat sixty persons while 25 persons can sit in the
open space nearby. The hotel building proper and the Annex are connected
with a covered way.
Besides, the on-site tennis court
and circular infinity pool, there a
snooker room and a spa. Guests
can feel refreshed and
invigorated at Spa Esc- the city's
best wellness centre on Level-6,
offering a range of pampering,
holistic treatments that
harmonise mind and body.
The spa are specially designed
relaxation areas or treatment
rooms, where guests can indulge
in body and face therapies,
including aromatherapy and
reflexology or to relax with
treatments at the nail or hair
salons, and then finish up their
projects in the business centre.
Port Bar and Port Deli, the last
venues that we were shown, are
the perfect spot, to pick up a
quick sandwich in between
conference sessions, or join
clients for an informal meeting
over afternoon tea or coffee, end
the evenings with a glass of wine
or a cocktail accompanied by
tempting desserts, such as
pastries, macaroons and
confections, while the grand
piano provides live music in the
background.
A bank branch and four ATM
booths are located in the Annex
building. So, there would be no
hassles for the guests should
they be short of local cash.
