Karim_Residence_Architect_Salauddin_Potash   *Karim Residence at Bashundhara R/A,Dhaka   *Architect : Salauddin Ahmed Potash Salauddin Ahmed (born in 1967 in Dhaka, Bangladesh) is a contemporary Bangladeshi architect. His projects included the Karim Residence in Bashundhara. He is the lead architect at Atelier Robin Architects that he founded in 2001. Ahmed received his Bachelor of Fine Arts in 1992 from Portland State University, and an Architecture degree in 1997 from the University of Pennsylvania. After graduation, he worked in the office of Robert Venturi and Denise Scott Brown, as well as the Urban Planning Department of the City of Portland, Oregon.Between 1999 and 2000, he worked for the firm Saiful Hoque Sthapati. In 2001, he founded his own architect firm, Atelier Robin Architects, based in Dhaka. Unlike the original, work on the building took only five years. Ahsanullah Moni, a wealthy Bangladeshi film-maker, announced his 'Copycat version of Taj Mahal' project in December 2008. The project cost about USD$56 Million, and was built 20 miles northeast of Capital Dhaka. Moni has explained that he built a replica of the Taj Mahal so that the poor of his nation can realise their dream of seeing neighbouring India's famed monument. This caused complaints from Indian officials, "You can't just go and copy historical monuments" an official of Indian High Commission in Dhaka told press. Amazing Nirjhor Cantonment Residential Area... Nirjhor Residential Area at Dhaka Cantonment. This is quiet a charming area at Cantonment, Dhaka, if you havent been. A bridge illuminated with neon lights, nicely kept lake and a restaurant by the lake (Captains world). However, you may only chill there if you have defense reference. You will be asked about the referense once entering the Cantonment Area, and then again once you are entering Nirjhor Residential area. The guards can get specific such as what batch, or rank is the defense reference person you are referring to. They are quite strict. Say you are only here to get a bite in that Triveni restraurant and you entered Cantonment with a defense reference.
